WORLD MUSIC DRUMMING
Ms. Krista

Travel the world through rhythm—then bring it home with rock-and-roll bucket beats! In this high-energy percussion class, students will explore music inspired by Caribbean and African traditions while discovering how rhythm connects culture, community, and movement. Using a variety of drums, agogo bells, and African shekere shakers, students will build ensemble skills like listening, blending, and keeping a steady tempo. Then we’ll shift into U.S. bucket drumming with 5-gallon buckets and rhythm sticks, building coordination, confidence, and performance skills through fun, high-energy patterns. Students will learn to lock in together and create powerful, crowd-pleasing grooves, including iconic rock rhythms like “We Will Rock You.” Expect movement, teamwork, and lots of hands-on music-making! * Enrolled students should be able to keep a steady beat.
GAME CLUB

Game Club is the perfect way for students to build strategy, practice teamwork, and learn new skills while having a blast. Each week, they’ll explore everything from quick card games to longer strategy favorites, guided by Ms. Krista Joy’s extensive collection—from classics like Cribbage and Uno to modern hits like Dominion, Dixit, Fluxx, and Star Wars Unlimited. A great way to beat the winter blues and broaden their game horizons!
MUSIC & MOVEMENT
Ms. Krista

Music & Movement (6-7 year olds) This is not a “sit and sing” music class—this is a move-your-body, make-some-music, joy-filled experience! Krista uses playful, kid-friendly activities to help students feel rhythm, explore different styles of music, and build confidence through singing and movement. Kids will sing songs with fun actions, move to the beat through games and creative dance, and make music using boomwhackers, drums, and other instruments. Movement and fun are prioritized while students naturally practice coordination, listening skills, rhythm, and musical expression.
WEARABLE WONDERS

Join us each week as we create our own wearable treasures! Each class will focus on a different technique and type of jewelry making. We will explore a variety of materials such as beads, thread, macrame, wire, stones, and more to create everything from bracelets to necklaces to earrings! No experience is needed, just creativity and curiosity!
DANCE!
Ms. Nikki

This joyful dance crew will explore ballet, jazz, and lyrical movement in a fun, low-pressure setting. Each week, students will learn new steps and positions, build confidence, and watch their skills come together in choreographed routines. In December, dancers will proudly share their hard work by performing 1–2 routines at the end-of-semester student showcase.
FRIENDSHIP & FREEPLAY
Ms. Nikki

Friendship & Freeplay (6-7 year olds) Let’s get ready to PLAY! Our focus will be on creating a space for friendships to grow. This class is designed for 6–7 year olds who thrive with movement, imagination, and unstructured time with friends. Weather and activities permitting, we’ll spend class outdoors as much as possible. Each week includes two complementary parts: Guided games & group play (a mix of simple strategy games and active, cooperative challenges) that help kids practice turn-taking, patience, teamwork, and handling wins/losses with confidence. At least half the class is true free play — open-ended, kid-led time for imaginative play, exploring, building games together, and simply being social. The teacher is present for the unstructured play too — lightly facilitating friendships, helping kids join in, resolving small conflicts, and offering optional play ideas when needed — while still protecting the magic of organic, self-directed play. If your child needs more social time, more outdoor time, and more room to play, this class is for them.
THEATER TOOLBOX
Ms. Amy

Ever wondered how a story becomes a show? In this theater “sampler” class, students will play improv games, explore stage movement and expression, and dive into the creative magic behind performances—sets, props, costumes, and make-up. It’s a high-energy, collaborative class designed to help kids grow confidence, creativity, and teamwork while learning the building blocks of theater. (No memorizing lines required.) This class is not a performance focus class, though there may be an opportunity to participate in the ensemble of the performance class if desired.
OZ ON STAGE: Theater Ensemble
Ms. Amy

Follow the yellow brick road all the way to a final performance! Students will work together to bring The Wizard of Oz to life in a fun, supportive, 13-week performance workshop. Amy will cast parts, and every student will have a meaningful role—onstage and/or behind the scenes. We’ll still use theater games and skill-building along the way, but the main goal is teamwork, rehearsals, and building a mini-show we can share at the end of the semester. Important note for families: At-home practice between co-op classes will be expected. Please make sure your child wants to perform and is committed to perform before registering for this class.
Woodworking Lab
Mr. Kirk

In this hands-on class, learners will be introduced to woodworking fundamentals and safety, and will build confidence using basic hand tools such as handsaws, tape measures, hammers, nails, sandpaper, drills and clamps and glue. Students will create a variety of engaging projects, including pinewood derby cars (yes, we will race them), birdhouses, and a tool caddy. As a special class project, students will work together to build a project for our host church such as a neighborhood library or a sturdy bench for one of the outdoor teaching speaces. Designed for learners who enjoy creating, problem-solving, and working with their hands, this class encourages growing skill, patience, and craftsmanship through meaningful, project-based learning.

There’s something special about the rhythm of crochet, the steady motion of hands at work, the focus it brings, and the sense of connection that grows when everyone is crocheting side by side. Crochet Club is a space to slow down, create something meaningful, and experience the simple joy of creating together.
THE WILD STUDIO: The Elements

The Wild Studio is a hands-on art adventure inspired by the four elements: Earth, Water, Air, and Fire. Four classes devoted to each. Students will create playful, nature-rooted projects like clay work, tiny terrariums, fairy/gnome builds, watercolor and “rainy day” art, wind-driven mobiles and chimes, and bright, glowing pieces inspired by sunsets, stars, lantern light, and fireworks. This class is designed to feel imaginative and alive: part art studio, part curiosity lab—where students experiment, build, and make beauty inspired by the world around them.
SKETCHBOOK PROJECT: The Natural World

You’ll leave with a portfolio of epic art you’re proud of, and a whole new way of seeing the art all around you.
PE

This class is all about movement, exercise, and fun. Forged & Tempered LLC started as a way to teach kids to love movement and make them feel confident and capable through experiencing physical activity. Herein, we seek to continue that mission! In this course we will play different sports, do rigorous exercise, and learn how to appreciate having social fun through physical activity.
LOGIC & Critical Thinking
Coach Reed

The Ultimate Toolkit for Sharp Minds In a world filled with constant information, the most important skill a student can learn is how to filter it. Logic and Critical Thinking is a high-energy, interactive course with games, puzzles, and discussion of real world events. This class transforms the abstract rules of reasoning into a practical "survival guide" for navigating school, the internet, and everyday life. What We Cover • The Science of Reasoning: We dive into the history of logic, from Aristotle’s ancient theories to the logic gates that power today’s artificial intelligence. • Spotting the Traps: We learn to identify "Logical Fallacies"—sneaky tricks people use to win arguments. Students will become experts at spotting Red Herrings, Circular Reasoning, and False Dilemmas. • The Toolkit: Students will master visual and mental tools like Venn Diagrams to organize thoughts and Flowcharts to map out consequences. • Puzzles & Games: We use "Blackout" logic grids, lateral thinking puzzles, and strategic board games to prove that thinking hard can be the best kind of fun. Students will also have court room cases to solve along the way! Student Learning Outcomes 1 Analytical Thinking: Break down big, scary problems into small, solvable pieces. 2 Intellectual Honesty: Recognize their own biases and learn how to change their minds when presented with better evidence. 3 Confident Communication: Construct persuasive arguments and ask the "right" questions in any discussion. "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." — Aristotle
HEALTH, SPEED, STRENGTH

This class combines a Health class and a Fitness class to help students learn about how their bodies work while pushing themselves physically. The first part of this class will be a lesson on how different systems in your body work, nutrition, injury prevention, and kinesiology. Your child will learn the importance of what fuel you put in your body and the value of exercise to promote lifelong fitness. Healthy choices, breathing exercises, and mental resilience are all just a sample of what we will cover. The second half of the class we will be getting our heart rates up and making our muscles strong through a combination of sports and fitness activities. Some classes will be conducted outdoors when the weather no longer calls for boots and gloves, but most classes will be done indoors for the winter months. The indoor sessions will push kids with more advanced exercises, HIIT, circuit training, and body weight exercises. Very little equipment will be used indoors as the class will be designed for kids to do the workouts anywhere. Outdoor classes will challenge students to play new games, classic activities, and dynamic movement to raise their heart rates. This session will cover new material not included the current Speed and Strength class, but will also review portions as well. This class is very open to new students and previous enrollees.
MYTHOLOGY & MODERN LESSONS
Coach Reed

This course isn’t just about gods and monsters; it’s about understanding the human experience through history’s first great teachers. What We’ll Explore • The Hero’s Journey: We’ll follow legendary figures as they face impossible odds, learning how their trials mirror the challenges we face in our own lives. • Historical Context: Students will discover the civilizations that created these myths, exploring how geography, culture, and ancient science shaped the stories they told. • Character & Wisdom: Every myth has a message. We will analyze classic tales to extract lessons on integrity, resilience, humility, and teamwork. This course will not be religious in nature but will contain stories about religious beliefs from various cultures.
TIME TRAVELER: Voyagers & The Fur Trade

Step into the past with the Time Traveler as we journey through the world of the voyageurs and the early North American fur trade. Through stories, songs, and hands-on experiences, students will explore how Native peoples and voyageurs lived, traveled, traded, and worked together (and sometimes clashed) during this fascinating chapter of early American history. This class is highly interactive and built for curious learners who love to do, not just listen. We’ll play history-based games like voyageur tug-of-war, try our hand at “trapping and trading” style simulations, and use role-play and group challenges to understand how the fur trade worked—and why it mattered. To bring history to life even more, we’ll also explore traditional foods and cultural connections through simple cooking activities (like pea soup), along with music, storytelling, and the kinds of tales that once traveled by canoe and campfire. Students will leave with a richer understanding of our shared history—and a bunch of memorable moments to go with it. (We will continue this class for new and returning students during spring semester (optional sign up), with a focus being on the Civil War. Enlist in the Union army and experience the joys and dangers that came with service as a soldier. More exciting details when we open enrollment for winter semester)

This class is all about thinking through challenges, active play, and fun with friends, all while discovering how people played across different eras and cultures. Expect some of Mr. Miles historic and epic story telling sprinkled in a long the way so they can learn the origin and culture around the games. .
STUDY HALL

Need an open hour in your schedule? Study Hall is a calm, quiet space for students who don’t have a class during this time block. Students can bring a book, homework, notebooks, quiet games, or a device with headphones to work on independently. This is a lightly monitored space rather than a fully supervised class. An adult will check in periodically to help maintain a focused environment, but there will not always be a dedicated adult present or available for ongoing support. Study Hall is not a taught class or tutoring session. The goal is simple: a peaceful, independent hour where students can read, catch up, and make progress on their own.
