Sing, Say, Dance and Play! This music class is all about small group activities, movement, rhythm practice, and music games. We will explore folk songs, playing unpitched percussion instruments, music from around the world and musicals. We will explore musical concepts such as rhythm, beat, harmony, dynamics, and also build teamwork, performance skills, and gross motor development. There will be opportunities to create music, make instruments, and improvise. The class will culminate in a live performance for friends, families, and seniors at a local senior center.
FRONTIER SKILLS

Learners step back in time and discover the essential skills that helped pioneers thrive in early America. Students will be immersed in primitive shelter building, fire building, tracking, rope making, candle-making, and primitive cooking techniques. Through interactive demonstrations and guided practice, participants will develop problem-solving abilities, self-reliance, and an appreciation for historical pioneer ingenuity while building confidence in their own capabilities.
STEM: PATTERNS IN NATURE

Patterns aren’t just pretty—they are the building blocks of science! In this exciting STEM class, we will explore how math, science, and nature work together to create the amazing patterns we see all around us. From symmetry in leaves to the Fibonacci sequence in flowers and fractals in trees and lightning bolts, students will investigate real-world examples of geometry, sequencing, and biological design. We'll observe, record, sort, and even build our own patterns using natural materials. Each session includes fun experiments, outdoor exploration, and creative challenges that build skills in observation, critical thinking, and scientific discovery.
CREATIVE CRITTERS, Animal Art

The animal kingdom and all it's critters, provide the framework for this dynamic visual arts class. Through guided projects participants will develop their observational abilities, technical skills, and personal expression. Otter oil pastels, creatures made through collage, clay snail sculptures and more will make their way home to display. Students will also engage with the animal kingdom through drawing and painting and other mixed media projects while learning fundamental art principles. Jenni emphasizes process over product, encouraging risk-taking and creative problem-solving. Your artist will gain confidence in their creative choices and unique expression. DRAWING 101

Welcome to our dynamic drawing class, where imagination takes flight! Each student will receive a beautiful sketchbook and a personalized pencil case filled with a wide range of artist's pencils, charcoal, and tools to take home at the end of the semester! This course is designed for kids of all skill levels and will include various techniques and themes, including drawing from music, expressive portraits, and vibrant scenes from nature. Students will engage in creating comic strips and characters, still life, and interactive light board drawing to build confidence and hand-eye coordination. Throughout the semester, they will have the opportunity to experiment with different mediums, including colored pencils, charcoal, ink, pastels, and drawing on wood, Join us for an uplifting experience that nurtures creativity, fosters self-expression, and makes drawing an adventure!
LOGIC & LOGICAL FALLACY

Explore the fascinating world of logical fallacies—the common mistakes in reasoning that can lead even the smartest people astray. Through fun activities, puzzles, games, and real-world examples, students will learn to identify tricky arguments like the "straw man," "ad hominem," and "appeal to popularity." They will try be challenged to trick their classmates using a logical fallacy, and also debunk the logical fallacies of their peers! Students will develop essential critical thinking skills by analyzing advertisements, social media posts, and everyday conversations for faulty logic. By the end of the course, young thinkers will become more confident in constructing sound arguments, recognizing manipulation tactics, and making better-informed decisions—valuable skills that will serve them throughout their academic journey and beyond.
NOURISH & NIBBLE, Cooking

Each week in Nourish & Nibble, young chefs blend practical skills with exciting projects, chopping, slicing, and seasoning their way through various units. For example: Global cuisine- including Mexican corn tortillas using a tortilla press & Italian bruschetta, one-pot soups, and have you ever heard of Apple Nachos?! We’ll bake biscuits to test leavening agents, experiment with pectin, and test how seasonings transform flavors. They’ll even get creative with cutters and garnishes, learning to “eat with their eyes” by making food art! The semester will wrap up with a special holiday baking unit, where kids will whip up festive treats just in time for the holiday season. Beyond cooking, our chefs will read recipes, labels, multiply portions, and estimate food costs and serving sizes, master beginner knife and safety skills, review measuring basics, explore kitchen terms, and decode ingredient lists. If your kiddo enjoys the kitchen, this class will support their interest and provide new exciting ideas to keep ‘em cookin! *Please note: We will use organic or non-GMO ingredients, free of food dyes. Not your typical PE class. Coach Joe and Coach Reed focus their efforts on growing curiosity, discipline, and confidence through physical activity and experiential process. Outdoor team and individual sports, exercises and lots of games will be their teaching framework. The goals for class include supporting students in feeling competent, confident, and capable. In Joe's words, "We want to instill in the coming generations an indomitable spirit, a tenacious mind, and a robust physicality."
FIBER ARTS & TEXTILES

Explore the fun and practical skills of Fiber Arts. Learn age appropriate skills while using various fiber techniques. This project based class will develop skills through projects like hand sewing forest animals, embroidery, wet felting a bag with needle felted decorations, kinusaiga, and weaving arts. Some additional projects will include ornaments and nature bags with button closures, and creating coil baskets! Our older class will try their hand at making a leather journal. Kids will develop confidence and experience the joy that comes through creation with each project they bring home to share and enjoy!
TUMBLING TIME!

Flip, roll, and jump into fun! This high-energy class introduces kids to the fundamentals of tumbling, including forward rolls, cartwheels, handstands, bridges, and more. Students will build strength, coordination, flexibility, and confidence in a space that encourages courage, creativity, and skill-building at every turn. Perfect for beginners or those looking to polish their basic skills while having fun with friends!
CHESS CLUB

Rachel's chess clubs are designed for beginners/intermediates who are looking to learn the game, strengthen their skills and advance their level of play. All are welcome. Through interactive lessons and fun exercises, students will develop critical skills in logic, problem-solving, and strategic thinking. By the end of the class, students will feel confident in the rules of chess, recognize key strategies, and be able to apply basic tactics during their own games. Participants receive their own scholastic chess set, carrying case, and introduction to chess book. Returning students will receive a next level chess book.
LEADERSHIP & PERSONAL GROWTH

Help your child unlock their full potential! In this dynamic and inspiring course, students will discover what it truly means to be a leader—not just by giving directions, but by fostering collaboration, building trust, and making a positive impact. With a strong emphasis on effective communication, participants will learn how to express their ideas confidently and listen with empathy. They'll explore the positive use of authority, understanding how leadership is about guiding and empowering others rather than simply being in charge. Most importantly, your child will identify and celebrate their own strengths while discovering how to recognize and nurture the talents of their peers. In Forged and Tempered LLC classes we love to use games to teach. This class will be no exception. We’ll use games like “Telephone,” to teach about effective communication. We’ll play other games that have changing rulesets, governed by the choices of students. In this way we’ll discover that leadership is as much about making decisions as it is choosing to deal with changes we may or may not like. We’ll do activities that require students to speak in front of the class, which will push their skills in public speaking. We’ll also take time to practice the art of giving and receiving compliments/encouragement. This class will be so fun, the kids will not realize they are learning one of the most important life skills, leadership!
THEATER

Amy's theater class will out perform your expectations! Students will dive into the world of theater through developing body awareness (vocal/physical/emotional expression, storytelling, reaction, and improvisation) and will grow in various knowledge areas through exposure to: Stage directions/vocabulary, costuming, choreography, and set, costume and make-up design. The class will culminate in a final performance where students will showcase their hard work. Perfect for budding performers and behind-the-scenes artists who'd like to get get a taste of life in the theater!
DANCE UNLIMITED!

In this beginner-friendly dance course, participants will learn basic dance techniques, terminology, and choreography across multiple styles including ballet, jazz, contemporary, and hip-hop. Classes focus on proper alignment, rhythm development, and spatial awareness in a supportive, non-competitive environment. Students will build strength, flexibility, and coordination while developing creative self-expression and confidence. The course culminates in a casual showcase where dancers can apply their new skills and celebrate their progress.
BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU

For new and returning students, this course will build upon the fundamental movements and basic skills learned during the 2024/2025 sessions. One of the most popular grappling arts outside of traditional wrestling, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a mixture of grappling, ground fighting and submission holds. BJJ focuses on taking one's opponent down to the ground, gaining a dominant position, and using a number of techniques to force them into submission. This is a purely physical class, and as such requires appropriate attire. While the traditional practice of this sport takes place in a “gi” (specialized kimono style jacket and pants) we practice a more modern practice of “no gi” affords an opportunity to play the sport without having to spend a significant amount on specialized clothing. Class fees will include a mouth guard. ***We do not include belt rankings/promotions. If your kids find they love the sport and want to join a traditional gym, we are happy to make recommendations.***

This Speed and Strength course will be both educational and physical. How do our bodies work? What balanced nutrition principles and recovery strategies maximize performance and prevent injuries? The second part of each class transitions into an intense workout session where participants apply their knowledge through challenging bodyweight strength training, plyometrics, sprint mechanics, and conditioning exercises designed to build real-world athletic capabilities and mental resilience.
